Preventing delivery push failures ("Unable to retrieve draft article(s)") in Salesforce Article
What happens when you create an Article translation project
When you create an Article translation project in Salesforce, the Language I/O app creates draft versions of the selected articles for each of the target languages selected. This means that if, for example, you want to translate two articles to German, Spanish and French, the app creates six drafts, one for each article in each of the three languages.
When the translations are completed and ready to be pushed back into Salesforce, Language I/O sends a query to your Salesforce instance for these draft articles, to update them with the translated content. If it finds all the draft articles, the push succeeds. However, if one or more of the draft articles are not found, then the push fails and the Language I/O Localization team receives a push failure notification for that project.
Why does a failure occur and how can I prevent or resolve it?
The most common cause of failure is when a user of your Salesforce instance erroneously deleted or changed the status of the draft article after the project started. This is typically more common with projects that have extended timelines, as this gives more time for a user to unknowingly delete or move a draft.
To prevent a failure, never move or delete drafts from active projects for which one or more translations have not been delivered yet.
If a failure occurs, you must recreate the missing draft articles so that Language I/O can complete the push. To do so, recreate the original project, or create a new project that contains only the problematic articles and target languages.
If the failure keeps occurring, contact Language I/O Support.
