Creating a Translation Project with Language IO Article
The Language IO Article translation integration for Salesforce:
- automates the search and pull of articles for translation.
- manages the content through translation.
- pushes translated articles back into Salesforce.
Creating a Project
Before you begin
Translation projects are subject to the following limits:
- A maximum of 100 articles per project.
- A maximum of 49 target languages per project.
Best practices:
-
Project Size: Keep projects small.
The total word count of the project (that is, number of articles x average word count of articles x number of target languages) should be fewer than 80K words. - Priority Articles: Translations are delivered all at once when the entire project is completed. If certain article translations have higher priority, consider submitting them in a separate, smaller project.
Steps
Open your Language IO Article translation plugin tab.
-
In the upper right, click Create New Project.
- Search for the articles you want to include in your project. You can filter by:
-
Language - Filter articles by source language.
Note: Projects can only include a single source language. Submit separate projects for articles having different source languages. - Status - Filter for articles by Published or Draft status.
- Article Number - Filter by article number, comma-separated.
- Search Term - Filter for articles by title keyword.
- Topics - Filter for articles by one or more topics.
-
Data Categories - Filter for articles by data category.
Note: This is not an either/or search: Do not select multiple parent categories. If you select multiple categories, the search returns no articles, as they are not in both categories. - Created - Filter for articles created within the given date range.
- Updated - Filter for articles updated within the given date range.
- Record Types - Filter for articles by record type.
- Channels - Filter for articles by channel.
- Only show articles with outdated translations - Filter for articles that were translated in the past, but for which the source content has since been updated.
- Only show articles with no translations in the selected languages - Filter for articles that do not have translations in the languages selected beneath the setting.
-
- Click Search in the bottom right corner.

- On the project submission screen:
