Language IO for Salesforce | Named Credential Configuration

Your Salesforce Named Credential stores your Language IO authentication URL and parameters. It allows Language IO applications installed in Salesforce to make external callouts to Language IO.

Prerequisities

• Generate your Language IO OAuth 2.0 client credentials if you haven't done so already. You will need your client ID, secret, and token URL.

Creating an External Auth Identity Provider

1. In Salesforce, go to Setup → "Named Credentials".
2. In the "External Auth Identity Providers" tab, click "New".
3. Give the new External Auth Identity Provider a "Label", "Name", and "Description".
4. Set "Authentication Protocol" to "OAuth 2.0".
5. Set "Authentication Protocol" to "Client Credentials".
6. Enter your Language IO Client ID and Secret.
7. Enable "Pass client credentials in request body".
8. Set "Token Endpoint URL" to your token URL.
9. Click "Save".

Configuring the Customer Request Parameters

1. With your External Auth Identity Provider open, scroll down to "Custom Request Parameters".
2. In the "Custom Request Parameters" section, click "New".
3. For "Name," enter: audience
4. For "Value," enter: https://api.languageio.com/translation_services
5. Set "Request Type" to "Token Request".
6. Set "Parameter Location" to "Body Parameter".
7. Click "Save".

Creating an External Credential

1. In Salesforce, go to Setup → "Named Credentials".
2. In the "External Credentials" tab, click "New".
3. Give the new External Credential a "Label", "Name", and "Description".
4. Set the "Authentication Protocol" to "OAuth 2.0".
5. Set Authentication Flow Type to "Configured in an External Auth Identity Provider".
6. Under "External Auth Identity Provider", select your External Auth Identity Provider.
7. Click "Save".

Configuring the External Credential Principal

1. With your External Credential open, scroll down to "Principals".
2. In the "Principals" section, click "New".
3. For "Parameter Name," enter: Main
4. Click "Save".

Creating a Named Credential

1. In Salesforce, go to Setup → "Named Credentials".
2. In the "Named Credentials" tab, click "New".
3. Give the new Named Credential a "Label" and "Name".
4. Enable "Enabled for Callouts".
5. For "URL", enter: https://golinguist.com/linguistnow/resources/
   Note: If Language IO has informed you that your account exclusively uses our EU infrastructure, use https://eu.golinguist.com/linguistnow/resources/ instead.
6. In the "Authentication" section, set "External Credential" to your External Credential.
7. In the "Callout Options" section, enable "Generate Authorization Header".
8. In the "Managed Package Access" section, list the namespaces of the applications that will use this Named Credential (comma-separated):
   • Language IO Case: LanguageIO
   • Language IO Enhanced Chat: Lio
   • Language IO Article: LIOAT
   • Language IO API: Lio
9. Click "Save".

Configuring and Assigning External Credential Principal Access

Agents must have access to the External Credential Principal and read access to the User External Credentials object. You can create a new permission set for these permissions, or add them to an existing permission set.

1. Open your Permission Set overview
2. Click "External Credential Principal Access".
3. Enable your External Credential Principal.
4. Click "Save".
5. Back in the overview, click "Object Settings".
6. Find and click "User External Credentials".
7. Click "Edit"
8. Enable "Read"
9. Click "Save".
10. Finally, assign the permission set to all users who will use this credential.
