ServiceNow | Configuring Retranslation and Quality Flag for Activity Stream
The "Translate Activity" component goes beyond the Dynamic Translation functionality in the Activity Stream by allowing agents to translate, retranslate, flag, and view past translated Activity Stream notes and comments.

Adding the Translate Activity Component to a Form
- Open the desired form (e.g., submit or view an Incident).
- Click on the menu icon at the top-left and go to Configure → "Form Layout"
- Add the "Translate Activity" formatter to the form:
- From the Available list, select "Translate Activity".
- Click the right arrow in the middle to move it to the "Selected" list.
- Use up and down arrows at the right to reposition the formatter.
- Click "Save".
Note: The "Translate Activity" formatter is included in the "Task [task]" table. To add the formatter to a different table:
- From the ServiceNow top-nav, go to All → System UI → "Formatters".
- Open the "Translate Activity" ("x_lanio_language_0_translate.xml") formatter.
- Update the "Table" field to the target table
- Click on the menu icon at the top-left and select "Insert".
Retranslating in the Translate Activity Component
In the "Translate Activity" component, after a note or comment has already been translated, the "Retranslate" button appears to the right. Agents can click this button to retranslate the content using a different translation vendor. The retranslation
Flagging Translations in the Translate Activity Component
In the "Translate Activity" component, a flag icon is shown to the right of translations and retranslations. Agents can click the flag next to a translation to indicate that it can be improved. Language IO collects aggregate flag data at scale to inform translation quality improvements.
