Language IO Enhanced Chat for Salesforce | Configuring your Messaging Session Lightning Record Page
To configure your Messaging Session Lightning Record page for Language IO Enhanced Chat:
- Go to Setup → Object Manager → "Messaging Session".
- Click "Lightning Record Pages".
- Click on your Messaging Session record page.
- Click "Edit".
- From the left-hand components panel, add the "Language IO Messaging" component to your page layout.Best Practice: Add the component to a custom tab.
- Click on the component to open the right-hand component settings panel.
If your Messaging Session page loads the standard Conversation component before loading the "Language IO Messaging" component, enable the "Used with the native conversation component" setting.
Important: This setting determines which Salesforce Toolkit API the component uses.- If your Enhanced Chat Session record page loads both the Enhanced Conversation component and Language IO Messaging component during Enhanced Chat sessions (e.g., the Enhanced Conversation component is your default tab, and agents switch to the Language IO Enhanced Chat component tab when translation is needed), you must enable this setting.
- If you use the Language IO Messaging component in a standalone way (specifically, without loading the native Enhanced Conversation component during Enhanced Chat sessions), you must disable this setting.
Note: Language IO recommends configuring your Enhanced Chat Session record page to load both the native Enhanced Conversation component and Language IO Enhanced Chat component during Enhanced Chat sessions. This provides access to more Salesforce Enhanced Chat standard functionality than using the component as a standalone.- Click "Save".
