Using the Language IO Answer Translation Add-In for the OSC Agent Desktop
With the Language IO Agent Desktop Add-In for Answer translation in Oracle Service Cloud, you can:
- Select one or more articles for translation inside the Answer Workspace
- Launch a translation project
- Track the progress of that project through its life cycle
- View the translated articles once they are automatically pushed back into siblings of the source article inside Oracle Service Cloud.
The purpose of this article is to provide usage information for content managers and editors who submit Answers for translation via the Language IO add-in for the Agent Desktop.
Steps
- Log in with a properly configured user
- Go to your Language IO-enabled Answer report. In the screenshot below, the name of the report is "LIO Answer Translation Report".
- Apply any relevant filter or search parameter, then click Search.
- Use Shift+Click and Ctrl+Click to select the articles you want to translate.
- You can only select articles in the source language configured for this instance of the Language IO add-in. For more information about configuring your source language, see this article.
-
Launch the project creation dialog. There are two ways to do this:
- Right-click on a selected area in the report
-
Clicking on the Language IO Batch Translate button in the navigation ribbon, as shown in the screenshot below:
-
The Language IO pop-up opens.
- Enter a Project Name. In this example, this is "OSC Answer Translation March".
- Check that the selection is correct. Remove any articles that may have been selected by mistake by de-selecting them. In this example, three articles are selected.
-
Use Shift+Click and Ctrl+Click to select the target languages (These are the languages you are translating into). In this example, the articles are set to be translated into French, Japanese and Spanish.
- Click Send Translation Request.
-
If your user permissions are properly set and the add-in was properly configured, a "Your request was successful." message appears at the top of the dialog box, followed by other logged output to validate important aspects of the translation project.
- If the configuration was not done properly, the dialog box shows an error. This means that you must revisit this article.
-
You can now log in to the Language IO Translation Portal to validate the project. Log in, then go to Integrations > Article Projects.
- From "Articles Search & Select", you can remove mistakenly added articles, or regroup them into new projects if needed. You can also track the status of your translation project in this portal.
- From "View Projects", you can also delete a project that has not yet started by selecting the check box to the left of the project and clicking on the Delete button.
- The articles in any deleted project are moved to the "Articles Search & Select" page.
-
To view all articles in a project click on the view link next to your project.
- On the "Articles Search & Select" page you can select articles not currently assigned to a project and add them to a new project. When a project is completed by Language IO, you will receive an email notification.
-
You can now log back into the Oracle Service Cloud Agent Desktop. The translated articles are automatically pushed into the correct sibling Answer, and all translatable elements of the Answer should be translated into the target language(s).
- If you defined link-rewriting rules with your Language IO team, all links embedded in the translated article (links to screenshots, related Answers, and other resources) should also be localized.
