Zendesk Guide Installation Prerequisites
The purpose of this article is to describe the steps required to prepare your Zendesk Guide instance for the installation of the Language I/O plugin for Zendesk Guide.
Contrary to other Language I/O plugins that can be installed directly by customers from the Zendesk marketplace, the plugin for Zendesk Guide must be installed and configured by Language I/O. However, there are prerequisite steps that you must follow first, to make sure your instance is ready for installation.
Setting up the languages in your Zendesk instance
First, make sure that you configured all the relevant languages that you will translate to and from in your instance:
- In Guide Admin, click the cogwheel to open the Guide settings:
- Select Language Settings:
- Click Add new language to add the relevant language. Repeat as applicable until you have all the languages you need.
Installing the application
After you set up your Help Center languages, contact your Language I/O Customer Success Manager to inform them that you are ready to install Zendesk Guide translation. Language I/O will take in your requirements and preferences to set up your account and help you with the next steps.
Setting up OAuth for Zendesk
Language I/O Support will create credentials to connect Language I/O to your Zendesk instance. When you receive these credentials, set up OAuth in your Zendesk instance as described in the dedicated article Setting up OAuth in Zendesk.
