Accessing your Intercom Settings in the Language IO Customer Self-Service Portal
If you are an Intercom administrator, you can now define language settings in the Language IO Customer Self-Service Portal (CSSP) under Integrations > Intercom Settings:
Agent Language
The Intercom Settings page opens on the Agent Language selection table. This allows you to select the languages you want to show in the dropdown menu so that your agents can select their preferred language for translation.
To edit the languages available to your agents:
- Click the Edit Languages button:
- Select the desired languages with the checkmark on the leftmost column.
- To define a default language, check the box in the "Default" Column. You can only select one default language.
- When you finish, click Save changes.
In your Intercom UI, the list of agent languages appears like this:
Customer Language
The Customer Language pane allows you to define whether or not to use the end user's browser language to define their language.
- Check or uncheck the box as applicable:
- Click Save changes.
If you leave the box unchecked, Language IO uses automatic detection on the first end user message to define the Customer language in the app.
