Adding the "Translate Activity" macro to a form
As of January 2024, there is a new UI macro available called "Translate Activity". This macro is intended to provide activity stream translations. It is compatible with forms such as Incidents, Cases, or any form that supports an activity. The macro also allows Language I/O to provide the capability to store translations, retranslations, and flagging a translation or retranslation.
To add the "Translate Activity" macro to a form in ServiceNow, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the record form view.
- Right-click on the hamburger icon in the top left . Go to Configure > Form Layout.
- Find the "Translate Activity" item and put it right above "Activities (filtered)":
- Click Save. Existing stored translation, retranslations and flag status will show when you load the page.
Important: You must set the system property
x_tmlab_lang_io.caching_enabled
to true
. This enables the caching functionality, which includes looking up stored translations when a user clicks the "Translate" and "Retranslate" buttons, and showing the stored translations when the page loads.Deleting stored translations
You can delete stored translations. To do so, use the "Table Cleaner" functionality of ServiceNow (This link opens the ServiceNow Support site).
