Supported File Types

Considerations

Please consider the following when using Language IO's file translation feature:

1. Certain document security properties, such as password or page extraction protections, may interfere with Language IO's ability to translate attachments. Disable these properties to allow translation.
2. Translated images may show visual artifacts of the OCR process. Certain text formatting, like strikethroughs, may not render exactly as in the source file. While most artefacts will not impact translation comprehensibility, in case of doubts, Language IO recommends cross-referencing the source file.
3. The font color of translated text will be black. In files with dark backgrounds, translated text may not be legible. Adjust the background color or copy selectable text onto a lighter background.

4. Low-resolution files may not be translatable if text content cannot be extracted. Try translating a higher-quality version of the file, if available (e.g., the expanded version of a thumbnail image).

5. PDF documents translated by Google will be watermarked "Machine translated by Google" to let the user know that the file was machine-translated.
