Responding to a Chat in the Native ZD Text Box
Translating and sending an answer
- You can use the native Zendesk text box to type your response:
- As you type your response, you can see that the text is automatically entered in the Language I/O text box as well:
- In this example, you want to translate your response. To do so, you can either:
-
- Click in the Language I/O text box and hit Enter, or
- Click the Translate button
Note: Make sure that Translation on option is toggled on:
- Your response is translated and sent and appears in the conversation:
- (Optional) Click in the Language I/O app to see the translation there too. Click again to hide it:
Note: This button is called "show/hide original" when you want to see the untranslated end user message.
Sending a response without translation
In the above example, you typed your response and needed to translate it. Now, suppose that instead, you use a macro with a text that is already in the end user's language:
- Open the Apply macro menu:
- In this scenario, you will pick a pre-translated response in French:
- The text box fills with the response:
- Since the response is already in the end user's language, you do not need to use the Language I/O app in this instance. Simply click the Send button at the bottom-right:
- Your response is sent, and appears "as is" in the conversation:
