Setting up the Agent Preferred Language feature as an Agent in Salesforce Chat
This is Step 2 of 2 to set up your preferred language in Salesforce Chat, separate from the user language and locale. Your admin must configure this feature first. For more information, see Setting up the Agent Preferred Language feature as an Admin.
Configuring your Preferred Language in Salesforce Chat
This features allows you to choose a preferred language separate from the user profile language and locale in Salesforce. This can be useful for example if you are bilingual and although your Salesforce instance is in one language, you prefer to communicate in your other language. You can then define the second language as the preferred language.
Note: The chosen language persists between sessions until the agent manually changes it again. They do not have to change the language for each chat session.
Steps
- Log in to your Salesforce org, then click on the avatar in the top right corner.
- Click Settings, then go to "Advanced User Details".
- Click Edit. Find the Translation Language field and select the desired language. In this example, the field is labeled "Translation Language":
- You can now have conversations in your preferred language, regardless of the Locale Settings of your org.
