ServiceNow Release Notes (Q1 2024)
These are the Release Notes for the Language I/O integration for ServiceNow v3.0 released in January 2024.
New
New UI Macro
There is now a new UI macro available called “Translate Activity”. This macro is intended to provide activity stream translations. It is compatible with forms such as Incidents, Cases, or any form that supports an activity. The macro also allows Language I/O to provide the capability to store translations, retranslations, and flagging a translation or retranslation.
For more information on how to install the new "Translate Activity" macro, see Adding the Translate UI macro to a form.
Stored translations
The Language I/O application for Service Now can now store translations to enable an expanded range of features such as retranslation and flagging. The new “Translate” UI macro can be used to translate or retranslate comments and worknotes, and flag the translations/retranslations.
Translations and retranslations are stored in a custom Table called "Translation Storage Batches".
Translation and Retranslation
When you deploy the “translate activity” tab, you can see the Translate button to the right:
After you perform a translation, the Translate button changes to a Retranslate button:
Use Retranslate when you are not satisfied with a translation. The text is retranslated with another Machine Translation vendor. The retranslated text appears below the text in the tab:
Flagging translations
When you deploy the "translate activity" tab, you can see a "Flag" icon below to the right, below the Retranslate button:
Flagging a translation is feedback that Language I/O collects for improvements over time. Select the relevant translation and click the "flag" icon to flag it. The translation will show a flag to the right:
